Abstract

The chemical evolution in the Galactic disk has important implications on
the study of Galactic structure such as star formation activity, initial mass
function, radial migration, gas flows, models of the Galaxy evolution. Open
clusters are regarded as one of the best candidates to understand the chem-
ical evolution of the Galactic disk as they are distributed throughout the
disk, span in large age range from few Myrs to few Gyrs as well as in Galac-
tocentric distances, and their age and distance can be measured with higher
accuracy. In this talk I will briefly discuss the distribution of metallicity with
age and variation of metallicity with various parameters like galactocentric
distance and distance from the Galactic plane(GP). I will also discuss con-
tour map of metallcity distribution in the Galaxy and variation in metallicity
in the Galactic center and anti-center directions.
