Abstract
Type Ib supernovae (SNe) are hydrogen deficient SNe with aspherical signature of explosion. The profile of the late phase emission features, such as [Mg I], [Ca II]
and [O I], is a key diagnostic to probe the asymmetric nature of explosion. Particularly, the [O I] emission feature is fairly isolated, less blended and most
useful in identifying the progenitor system. In this talk, I will discuss the correlation of the nature of [O I] doublet with the progenitor system.
