In this talk, I will present the results obtained through the analysis of metallicity information for 335 open clusters in the Galaxy. The data was collected from various online catalogues, like DAML02, MWSC, N16, Gaia ESO Survey and Heiter. By studying the variation of metallicity with various parameters like age, galactocentric distance and distance from the mid-Galactic plane(GP), we gained some insight on the structure and time evolution of the Galaxy. Although we obtain a weak age-metallicity relation, we found a high correlation between metallicity and galactocentric distance, as well as linear variation of radial metallicity gradient along the Galactic Plane.
