Walk-in-interview (Offline and Online)
ARIES is offering one Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) with a monthly stipend of Rs.37000 (+admissible HRA or accommodation will be provided as per the institute norms) to work on the project “Wave dissipation in the magnetised solar atmosphere:Implications on heating and seismology” funded by SERB/ANRF. The position is fixed for a duration of one year from the date of appointment and is not extendable.
Qualification:
- Essential: M.Sc in Physics/Astronomy/Astrophysics/Space Physics with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST categories). Candidates who passed M.Sc. on or after June 1, 2022 are eligible to apply. The degree should be from a UGC-recognized college/University. The upper age limit is 28 years on the date of the interview, with relaxation for reserved categories as per the UGC rules.
- Desirable: Qualification in any of the national level tests, like CSIR/UGC-NET (JRF/LS), GATE, or JEST. Exposure to solar physics through short-term projects/thesis or participation in relevant workshops. Good knowledge of computer programming in IDL/Python/solar software and familiarity with the Linux operating system.
