A spectro-polarimeter for the 3.6-m Devasthal Optical Telescope (DOT) is a desired instrument to add extra dimensions to various science cases already being pursued using the ARIES telescopes. A design for adding a quad-beam spectro-polarimeter mode with minimal effort and budget in ARIES-Devasthal Faint Object Spectrograph & Camera (AD-FOSC) will be presented. Both linear and circular polarimetry observations in imaging and spectroscopy mode should be possible with the proposed augmentation in AD-FOSC. The talk will be suitable for novice as well as advanced users and will present basics of polarimetric instruments, proposed configuration in AD-FOSC, key science cases that may be taken, and challenges involved.
