Abstract

Bright rimmed clouds (BRCs) are the isolated molecular clouds located at the periphery of relatively evolved HII regions, which are found to have many signs of star formation. We present the preliminary results of the pilot study conducted on the two BRCs, BRC 18 and BRC 38 basically to assess the feasibility of mapping observations with HCN (1-0) and N2H+ (1-0) molecular lines using KVN single dish facility. The main aim of this study was to understand the kinematics of the radiation-driven implosion mode of triggered star formation in BRCs.
