The 1.2m telescope at Gurushikhar Mt. Abu has been operating for almost 30
years and has produced many exciting scientific results. During this
period, many upgradation activities have been carried out by observatory
engineers to improve the user experience and enhance telescope
performance.
Technologies that were unavailable or immature at the conception of the
telescope have been integrated into the system to offer a thoroughly
modern experience to researchers. Features like autoguiding, sky catalogue
integration, miniaturization of control system electronics have simplified
observations and increased productivity.
This talk will focus on these activities in detail.
