The Himalayas have one of the most diverse and rich ecosystems on the Indian subcontinent. The greenness of vegetation in the Himalayan region is sometimes overlooked because field research is difficult due to its high altitude and diverse topography. Although basic information regarding vegetation cover and its interactions with diverse hydroclimatic parameters is critical, little attention has been paid to understanding vegetation's response to distinct climatic factors. The main aim of the present study is to analyze the relationship between the spatiotemporal variability of vegetation greenness and associated climatic drivers in Uttarakhand at annual and seasonal scales.
