The Sun is the only star in the Universe known to harbour a planet with conclusive evidence of life! While solar radiative energy sustains processes that make life possible, it's dynamic activity may also render planets uninhabitable in certain circumstances. The solar system provides a test bed for observing this fascinating interplay of star planet interactions and is a window to other worlds beyond our own. In this talk I shall discuss our efforts to model star planet interactions from the dual perspectives of assessing our space environment and understanding the Influence of stellar activity on planetary and exoplanetary environments.
