3rd BINA Workshop Announcement

First Announcement

The 3rd BINA workshop “Scientific potential of the Indo-Belgian cooperation” is organised by ARIES on 22-24 March 2023 in Nainital (India). The aim of the workshop is to highlight all the advantages of the Indo-Belgian collaboration and to give the participants the opportunity to promote their activities on all kinds of scientific topics and to meet their collaborators in person. There will be time for discussions. The proceedings will be published in the Bulletin de la Société Royale des Sciences de Liège (referred, online journal with open access).

Due to the capacity of the venue, only 100 participants can be allowed to attend the 3rd BINA workshop in person but it will be possible to accommodate more participants online. In the first stage, we kindly invite you to express your interest to participate in the 3rd BINA workshop by filling out the following Google form (deadline: 1 September 2022). In the second stage, candidates for participation in person will be invited by e-mail to submit an abstract for their presentation (deadline: 15 October 2022). There are no prior restrictions to the allowed scientific topics but priority will be given to science based on the use of the 3.6-m DOT and 4-m ILMT. The detailed outline of the scientific programme and the list of accepted participants in person will be defined based on the submitted abstracts (deadline: 30 November 2022).

Note that the 3rd BINA workshop will be preceded by the inauguration of the ILMT on Tuesday 21 March 2023, including a visit to the Devasthal Observatory. On Saturday 25 March 2023, an excursion will be organised for the participants of the 3rd BINA workshop, without any obligation to attend.
