Situated adjacent to the picturesque hill town of Nainital, ARIES (an acronym of Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences) is one of the leading research Institutes which specializes in observational Astronomy & Astrophysics and Atmospheric Sciences. ARIES operates a modern 3.6 meter aperture Optical Telescope with active optics and a 1.3 meter aperture telescope, both located at Devasthal (altitude 2540 meters) at about 50 km from Nainital. ARIES has also established a ST Radar for atmospheric measurements. Applications are invited from candidates with a Ph.D degree in Physical / Mathematical Sciences from a recognized University / Institute with at least one post-doctoral research experience. Fresh Ph.D.'s with exceptional accomplishments may also apply. The Institute offers challenging opportunities to researchers working in Astronomy & Astrophysics and atmospheric sciences. Regular research staff of the Institute is expected to primarily engage in independent research in basic science and, additionally, participate in activities that promote the academic environment of the Institute. ARIES has a continuous series of opportunities for faculty positions against sanctioned and available vacant scientific positions and accepts applications throughout the year. Minimum qualification for Faculty position at ARIES
- Nationality: Only Indian citizen.
- Ph.D degree in Physical / Mathematical Sciences from a recognized University / Institute with at least one post-doctoral research experience. Fresh Ph.D.'s with exceptional accomplishments may also apply.
- M. Sc. Physics with minimum 55% marks for General/OBC and 50% for SC/ST. Post graduation degree should be from an UGC recognized college/University.
