Travel Instructions to Reach Mysuru (Mysore), India for International Passengers
The most recommended option for international passengers is to arrive at Bengaluru International Airport (BLR) (Also known as Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru), https://www.bengaluruairport.com which is about 170 km from Mysuru. From the airport, passengers can directly take the KSRTC Flybus service to Mysuru without entering Bengaluru city. The journey usually takes about 3 - 4 hours and costs approximately ₹950 (~10 Euros). Bus schedules and booking are available at https://www.ksrtc.in. If you arrive by bus to the Mysuru city bus stop, you can use Uber or Ola Cabs apps to get a cab to the conference venue.
Passengers may also take a direct taxi from BLR airport to the conference venue in Mysuru. The travel time is about 3 hours, with fares typically ranging from ₹4,500-₹7,000 (~ 50-75 Euros) depending on the vehicle and timing. Reliable taxi booking services include Savaari Car Rentals and Gozo Cabs.
Another convenient option is to arrive at Chennai (MAA) or Hyderabad (HYD) international airports and take a direct connecting domestic flight to Mysuru Airport (MYQ). Mysuru currently has regular direct flight connections from both Chennai and Hyderabad. From Mysuru airport, Uber or Ola cabs can be used to reach the venue.
Passengers arriving at any other international airport such as Delhi or Mumbai must obtain a connecting Domestic Flight to arrive at the options above.
Taxi/Cab Services
We recommend that you have Uber and Ola cab apps installed in your mobile phones if you want to freely move around in and around Mysuru. They work on cash option (payable to the driver) mostly but also work if credit cards are associated with the app.
Indian SIM cards at the Airport
At BLR airport, soon after you pick up your luggage, and passing customs and well before you exit the terminal door, you will find several mobile network providers. Airtel is the most preferred option. Please visit here for more information on Indian SIM cards.
When you are inside the terminal, wifi is not automatically available. Look for wifi password issuing machines near the luggage pickup area (upon arrival) or in the departure zones (when you leave). You can scan your passport and boarding pass in these machines to obtain a wifi password to connect.
