Research

My research covers a broad range of topics involving the time domain analysis in the optical astronomy. In particular, my research focuses on the following topics:

My research has extensively involved the observation of open clusters, with a dual focus on photometric studies and comprehending the variability nature within the stars constituting these bound systems. Open clusters, hosting hundreds to thousands of well-resolved stars, exhibit diverse stages of evolution based on their initial mass, leading to a wide range of variability phenomena. Through the examination of clusters with varying ages and chemical compositions, we have successfully identified, classified, and analyzed various populations of variable stars. These include pulsating stars, binary stars, and the rare class of MAIA stars. In recent years, a significant portion of my work has been dedicated to understanding the Galactic structure and Galactic disk in the immediate solar neighborhood. This exploration is grounded in the statistical study of a large sample of star clusters reported in recent literature. The outcomes of this research have allowed me to determine crucial parameters such as scale height, solar displacement, local mass density, and more, providing a detailed understanding of the Galactic structure.
