ASTROSAT


AstroSat is the first Indian multi-wavelength mission launched in September 2015 with five astronomy payloads for simultaneous multi-band observations. AstroSat will focus on studying a variety of cosmic sources in the X-ray and Ultra-violet wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum.

OBJECTIVES


The workshop will have a few lectures related to AstroSat early science results. The main emphasis of the workshop will be to get a hands-on experience on analyzing AstroSat UVIT and LAXPC data.

PARTICIPATION


Interested participants must fill up the registration form click here on or before 30-June-2017. Selected participants should bring their own laptop with linux OS.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS


Target participants will be young Ph. D. students from institutes/Universities (mainly Northern India) who are motivated to participate and make use of AstroSat data for their research work. The number of outstation participants is limited to 20.

TRAVEL AND LOCAL HOSPITALITY


Travel and local hospitality will be provided to outstation participants (bus or 3AC train fare). There is no registration fee.
